Terms of Service

Agreement

By using WineDiaries ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What WineDiaries Is

WineDiaries is a private app for preserving wine memories — the people, places, and moments around wine. It is not a social network, marketplace, or wine rating platform.

Your Account

  • You must be at least 17 years old to use WineDiaries. By creating an account or using the app, you confirm you are at least 17 years of age. WineDiaries contains references to alcohol and is rated 17+ on the App Store.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials.
  • One account per person. Don't share your login.
  • We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Your Content

  • You own your content. Photos, notes, wine records, and memories you create belong to you.
  • You grant us a license to store, display, and transmit your content solely to operate the app. We do not use your content for any other purpose.
  • You are responsible for your content. Don't upload illegal content or content that infringes others' rights.
  • Shared memories: When you share a memory with someone, they can view it. You can revoke access at any time.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Reverse engineer or scrape the app
  • Upload malicious content or files
  • Create accounts for bots or automated access
  • Misrepresent your identity

In-App Purchases

  • WineDiaries offers optional paid themes ("Stationery Shop").
  • Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store (In-App Purchase).
  • All purchases are subject to Apple's refund policies.
  • Core functionality (creating and viewing memories) is always free.

The App "As Is"

  • WineDiaries is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We do our best to keep the app running, but we don't guarantee uptime or data preservation.
  • Back up your important photos independently. While we take data security seriously, no system is infallible.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WineDiaries and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account in the app, or by emailing support@winediaries.app.
  • Upon deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and all personal data is permanently purged within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
  • We may terminate accounts that violate these terms with reasonable notice.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany.
